Travel Details

From the red ochre Namib desert hugging the Atlantic Ocean, mysterious fairy circles, dunes the size of mountains and plains as far at the eye can see, Namibia will push your senses to overload. Both The Nest and Little Ongava will help you process all that you have seen on the One Cay Desert Safari. Both lodges have been selected not only for their exquisite design and sophistication but also for their unique locations. The Sociable Weaver bird-nest inspired The Nest mirrors the hues and nature of the surrounding, almost surreal Namib desert, whilst Little Ongava opens up onto the vast expanse of Etosha national park. Pristine. Amazing and out-of-this-world.

Overview

Whilst Namibia does it’s best to engulf your senses, both Little Ongava and The Nest will add to the indulgence of the One Cay Desert Safari. Equally beautiful in design and location, both lodges are perfect for relaxing after a day’s guided safari as your personal chef prepares something equally amazing for you to enjoy under the night stars. Suites are as you’d expect – elegant but laidback with all the comforts of home and a whole lot more. Yes, this is a next-level experience.

Widely considered Namibia’s most luxurious lodge, Little Ongava has an unquestioned intimacy with the land. Modern Classic in design, the lodge’s three thatched roofed, rock, wood and glass suites are connected by elevated wooden platforms with magnificent views across the Etosha Plains. Each spacious suite has its own plunge pool, en suite bathroom, “sala”, and outdoor shower. The lounge and dining rooms have wonderful views of a waterhole below the camp, with an open deck allowing for relaxed, stylish dining under the African sky.

Little Ongava includes: Rock, wood, and glass suites under thatch, with elevated wooden walkways, King-size beds, En suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower, Private sala and sitting room with own viewing deck, Plunge pool, Air-conditioned bedrooms, Limited Wi-Fi.

Inspired by the unique structure of the Sociable Weaver bird nest, The Nest is an extraordinary lodge in terms of design and décor. Designed by Porky Hefer, landscaped by Swen Bachran and with interiors by Maybe Corpaci, The Nest is a tour de force in design. Tucked away in a lush valley on the private Nambi Tsaris Conservancy, the lodge is flanked by the escarpment of the desert, whilst its cool oasis boast seasonal natural pools and falls. It’s also a magnet for wildlife and ‘green season’ birding.

The Nest includes: Outdoor and indoor dining areas, Outdoor braai and firepit, Swimming pool with lounges, Limited Wi-Fi, Floodlit waterhole for wildlife viewing
