Out yonder, take a deep breath before submerging into the turquoise sea and a whole new world. From pure tranquility to adrenaline fuelled water adventures, the One Cay Island House offers barefoot, board short sophistication with a laidback vibe. This is pure island time. Your chef preparing freshly caught seafood with fresh pickings from the island’s own orchard and garden, the dive master guiding you to the best underwater spots, social drinks and tunes at sundown or just enough ‘you-time’ to become one again. The Island House is something and everything.
Immerse yourself in Palawan
Lying in the beautiful, unspoiled Palawan Archipelago, the One Cay Island House is the ultimate castaway experience. Surrounded by the stunning limestone stacks and turquoise water of the South China Sea, with countless reefs, two UNESCO world heritage sites – Tubbatahaa Reef Marine Park and Coron Island – and WWII wrecks to explore, the island is diver nirvana. Its 125 acres of unspoiled white sandy beaches, 17th century Spanish ruins, peaks, valleys, pristine tropical forest and fauna are also a feast for the senses. With 25 staff at your beck and call, you can’t help but feel you really are in paradise.
Whilst it’s hard to outshine such a heavenly place, the Island House’s elegant villas and cottages certainly give it a go. Designed by renowned Filipino architect, Jorge Yulo, the villas and cottages are beautifully appointed with sustainably sourced native hardwoods, bespoke rattan furniture and hand-carved Romblon marble baths. They also make the most of their relaxed, natural setting with opening walls that maximise cooling breezes.
